Welcome to the website of the project Polaron Mobility in Model Systems and Real Materials - PolMoReMa. The project will be realized from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2026. All team members come from the Scientific Computing Laboratory, Center for the Study of Complex Systems, Institute of Physics Belgrade, National Institute of Serbia.

In the project we will investigate how electrons flow through materials. On their journey, the electrons modify their surroundings which in turn affects them. These effects are taken into account by considering the particle called a polaron which consists of an electron and its surrounding cloud. The main goal of our project is to enable predictions of polaron mobility and hence the conductivity of realistic semiconducting materials, such as those present in electronic devices that we use every day. We plan to achieve this by using a variety of methods from theoretical and computational condensed matter physics.
